Well our first beach day was a success, but really how can it not be? Sand, ocean, friendly Mexicans, language barriers......I have a new appreciation for new immigrants, trying to understand another language, to even order food is not easy.
We found a great palapa/restaurant to sit under and ordered a Chelada. This is a beer with lime juice in a glass with a salted rim, it was okay, not worth a second try though.
While sitting at the beach vendors are constantly coming by, mostly because it is Mexican holiday time until January 6th when the kids get their presents. Most of the vendors are selling cheap trinkets, but some are selling FOOD! yeah, my favorite:) today we bought peanuts and then the guy with the tamales came by. I got 3 chicken mole tamales for 20 pesos, the same cost of the peanuts! messy but delish! Adrian doesn't like tamales and thinks I'm brave/crazy for eating street food. He might be right, I didn't really get any chicken, mostly bones which on the picture are sitting on the green banana leaf.
The water was warm and calm(ish) for a swim.
The AC in our house died again, hoping they can fix it, if not you might see us in a new location soon! AC sounds like a luxury, but when you are in a house facing straight into the sun, you need to escape it at night. The house is fairly new and there are no trees and no palapas have been built to shade it. Shade has now made it to our "must" list when renting on VRBO.
Until Manana!
