Mazunte Beach

We returned to Mazunte Beach today to lie about the beach again. Mazunte is the location of the Mexican Turtle Museum, but also the southern most spot on North America. Now that is if you do not include any of Central America on the list.

Mazunte is a very good swimming beach and the headquarters of the Bohemians of Mexico. The youth congregate here, many from Mexico, but a lot from Argentina, Germany, France and other far off places.

It is dread lock central and I can understand that, the ocean, wind and sun wreak havoc with my hair daily and just mussing it up and calling it done is tempting..... We were sitting next to a young Brazilian yesterday who was doing some capaoira (a mix of martial arts and dancing) on the beach and he had the longest dreads I've ever seen, but when he got out of the ocean after swimming, he smelled like a dog after a swim  X100! ACK!!

On the way back from the beach I made it my mission to get pictures of as many dogs as possible on the streets. The population of dogs is staggering if I only saw a percentage of what really exist.

The last dog is actually our complexes caretakers, he/she is well taken care of as you can tell by the smile on it's face!
